Patricia's Biography
Mokolo was born on December 6, 1970 of Oscar Calvin Evans Sr. and Margie Holley Evans in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Patricia is the fifth of seven children, who grew up struggling and spent her childhood impoverished in the projects. However, Patricia grew out of poverty and graduated from Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa with an advanced diploma.

She further distanced herself from a home-life of poverty and enlisted into the United States Air Force. In the Air Force, Patricia served during the First Gulf War and performed services at the National Security Agency with a top-secret clearance; she also earned many awards for her service with included the National Defense Medal, the Efficiency Fidelity Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and an Appreciation Award for Service.

In 1998 after serving in the Air Force, Patricia obtained her Associates Degree in Science and concentration in Journalism from Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa. After her service in the military, Patricia studied at the University of Alabama earning herself a Bachelors Degree of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences with a concentration in Journalism in 2000 as a first generation college graduate; Patricia graduated from the Dean's List, with a 3.5 grade point average.

While attending the University of Alabama, Patricia worked with the Center of Public Television as an intern; here, she assisted in gathering information on popular documentaries and gained powerful information regarding the film industry. Patricia researched parts for an Emmy Award-winning documentary Dorothy 'Love' Coates, and was the narrator in The Colony. In 1999, Patricia's work as a student journalist won her the William Hearst Journalism Award.

Patricia has used her talents in Journalism and her strong faith in God. In 2002, Patricia created a new television show called "Faith Works" in order to reach out and share the Christian faith. The show ran for two years. Patricia continued her service in the Church by working as an ordained minister at Daystar Familly Church. Here, Patricia reached out and taught children the Word of God in Children's Church.

Patricia's willingness to get involved politically was due to the overwhelming struggles of her friends and family. Patricia realized how the economy effected friends and family, and realized many local issues were not being addressed; she observed a corrupt government and a people that could no longer trust the government.

Patricia answered the call to change in 2007, and joined on as a Field Organizer on the Obama for America campaign; here, she succeeded in advancing the agenda of Obama's call for change in politics. Since, Patricia has only grown in her belief that Alabama needs a corruption-free leader in government and her home, District 7.

Patricia still ministers today and is an Ambassador for Christ at Hurricane Baptist Church where she and her husband, Jerry-Pule Mokolo, teach children in the Children's Church Ministry. She married her husband on August 2, 2008.

Patricia is a leader in the ADC, serving as the Vice Chair for Women's Affair of the Alabama Democratic Conference, is a member of the Tuscaloosa County Democrats, she served as a supporter and speaker for Voices for Alabama's Children. Patricia has distinguished herself as a Community Activist where she has the boldness, character, and courage to tackle the tough issues in the community. Patricia speaks out against the current schooling system, violence in youth, teen pregnancy, and sexual abstinence and purity.

Patricia is a caring mother to three children; a daughter attending Historic Miles College, a son attending Paul W. Bryant High School, and a daughter attending Woodland Forrest Elementary School. She and her husband also care for two children who were headed to foster care. Currently, Mr. and Mrs. Mokolo assist, but have not yet adopted, in raising those children, who came from a broken home.
